Applying and Enrolling

The Application for Admission to Studies must be filled out completely and correctly (What do you need to take notice of when filling out the application?). You need to include officially authenticated copies of your secondary school-leaving certificate (Bacalauréat, Attestat, High school diploma etc.). In addition, you must provide evidence of any university entrance examinations you have taken in your native country as well as an overview of the nature of your previous studies, the grades you received, and certificates from any academic examinations you have taken. Please add the certificate of registration from your home university. Eligeable for short time studies are only applicants who are enrolled in their home university.

In the case that you have already studied at an institution of higher education in the Federal Republic of Germany, we also need the certificate of enrollment from your last semester at that institution.

All documents included with the application must be officially authenticated and, if they are not in German, English, French, Italian, or Spanish, in an officially authenticated translation. As a rule, you must present the original certificates when you enroll.

Applications filled out incompletely or carelessly will be rejected!

The dates of enrollment are usually in the first half of October (for the winter semester) and April (for the summer semester). The exact dates are included in the letter of acceptance. However, it is often necessary to arrive earlier because it might take time to find a room or an apartment.
