E-learning Service Center
As an additional support or extension of traditional teaching, e-learning tools can offer numerous advantages. E-learning is not meant to replace traditional teaching methods, but rather should be used in those cases where the quality of Freiburg University’s education will be improved.
E-learning allows you to:
- Keep your teaching material current and complete
- Try out alternative study services, such as blogs or wikis
- Activate study groups
- Use communicative and collaborative tools to divide the workload of assignments, thereby increasing student learning and competence
- Use (inter)active teaching methods instead of relying solely on presentation of the subject matter
- Individual and flexible ways of organizing time, place and tempo of studies
Freiburg University offers a variety of e-learning services, such as CampusOnline (the central teaching platform), an online Class Schedule, wikis and the Adobe Connect virtual classroom.
You can find an overview of the services offered on the E-Learning Service Center’s web pages. In the relevant e-learning blogs, you can inform yourself about the University’s current projects and/or inform yourself of any e-learning news.
Any e-learning tools offered can be requested by the person responsible for teaching, but students are also encouraged to inform their professors of their ability to request any of these e-learning tools. If, as a student, you feel a certain e-learning service may improve the quality of your course, we encourage you to remind your professor of his or her ability to request a e-learning tool. You can also ask us here at the E-Learning Service Center for more information and we will gladly assist you.
And if you have any ideas or suggestions for the further development of our services, please send us an e-mail at servicestelle@elearning.uni-freiburg.de.
