Additional Registration Process

Find out here how easy it is to register from home.

Since summer semester 2008, the university offers an alternative registration procedure. With the help of the online service system LSF [de] you can register for the coming semester online at https://www.verwaltung.uni-freiburg.de/qis [de] and pay your fees by direct debit (from a German financial institution). It is also still possible to pay in person at the financial transactions office [de] or to transfer the fees using a conventional transfer slip.
For reasons too complicated to describe here, it is no longer possible to register at the new UniCard terminals or at the old ones still in operation.

In addition to the possibility of registering, the online system also enables students to change their contact information (mailing address and telephone number) and print out certificates of enrollment on their own.

In order to log into the site, you will need to activate LSF access on your student account from the University Computing Center. To do so, just enter an e-mail address in “myAccount” https://myaccount.ruf.uni-freiburg.de (in case you have not already done so).

In order to ensure that the registration and address change functions of the online system are secure, we have decided to implement the iTAN procedure typically used for online banking. This means that starting on December 15th we will be sending an iTAN letter to every student at the mailing address they provided to the university. The letter consists of a list of 20 six-digit TANs (random numbers). Each time you change your address or enter your account information to transfer fees for registration you will be asked to enter one of the TANs from your list. If you are running out of TANs, you can use the last one on your current list to order a new list.
The UniCard team is responsible for all returned iTAN letters as well as for helping students who have lost their list and answering general questions concerning the iTAN procedure. Questions concerning your Computing Center account should be directed to the user service of the Computing Center [de], and general questions on the registration procedure (e.g., blocks, deadlines, ...) to the Student Registration Office.
