Information and dates for registration at the University of Freiburg

Students enrolled at the University of Freiburg must register for each new semester during the registration periods listed below. In order to register for the semester, you must transfer the student activity and administrative fees according to the procedure described below. If you have not completed your registration by the end of a semester, you will be exmatriculated automatically. Exmatriculation ends your status as a student. Upon completing your course of study at the university (e.g., earn a degree), you should apply for exmatriculation.

You may re-register online via direct debit. To do this, log in to campus management HISinOne, go to "My Studies" > "Student service" and follow a two-step procedure (first: create a direct debit mandate, second: generate a direct debit order). However, for the direct debit procedure you require a bank account from a financial institution within the SEPA area.
You may also re-register via bank transfer. Please transfer the full amount to the account of the Financial Transactions Office at BadenWürttembergische Bank Stuttgart, IBAN DE71 6005 0101 7438 5087 68, BIC SOLADEST600. As a payment reference for the bank transfer please enter solely the following data: the semester code followed directly by your matriculation number. The semester code for Summer Semester 2017 is 20171, for Winter Semester 2017/2018 it is 20172. For example: to re-register for Summer Semester 2017 use the following payment reference only: 201711234567 (i.e. 20171 followed by your matriculation number). In order to ensure that your payment can be allocated automatically and processed more quickly please do not leave any spaces or add any additional information. Please note: when re-registering via bank transfer it may take up to 14 days before your semester registration is confirmed.

You can register in person at the Registration Office on the ground floor of the Student Service Center. It is also possible to pay your student activity and administrative fees with an EC card there. Cash payment is only possible at the Cashier's Office in the administrative building (Rektorat).
