As many as four semesters of involuntary online instruction are behind us. For many students, these semesters brought significant challenges. Concerns about the pandemic were compounded by struggles with motivation and a lack of contact with other students.

While the pandemic continues, it is now possible to hold far more in-person events. Thanks to funding recently made available by the State Government of Baden-Württemberg, the University of Freiburg can offer a wide variety of additional academic opportunities this year. Available in person with online options, these opportunities are intended both for students who are just beginning their studies as well as for advanced students in the 1st-4th semesters.

Many additional events, workshops, coaching sessions and tutorials have been designed to help you:

  • Catch up on subject matter and consolidate your knowledge.
  • Brush up on your study skills, including self-study and academic methods.
  • Find new motivation.
  • Make and maintain contacts.

You will encounter some of these opportunities (such as additional tutorials for foundational courses) in your regular classes.

We have compiled all of the opportunities – including multidisciplinary options – in the tried-and-tested “Studienstart” app so that you can easily find the support you need. Opportunities for advanced students are also available in the app.

The program is continually updated, so it’s worth checking back again later.
