Bachelor, teaching degree and state examination

Matriculation for unrestricted fields

If you have your German high school diploma (Abitur), you can matriculate directly in the registration office for unrestricted fields until 9 April 2020.

Note: German university applicants with foreign certificates of education must have their degrees certified before applying. For more information on the process, go to our information page "Foreign Degrees". If your native language is not German, you will be required to pass an additional language test (for instance DSH or TestDaF).

International applicants without German high school diploma (Abitur) may apply until 9 April 2019 for unrestricted fields. Please register first: Registration Portal. After that you can start your application.

Note: Applicants for undergraduate degree programs at the University of Freiburg (bachelor or state examination) must submit proof that they have taken a test to help them choose the right field of study. This is an online test that you can take from the comfort of your own home. It is not a test you can “fail.” You just need to confirm that you have taken it. To do so, just take the test online and print out the certificate of participation, which is generated automatically when you finish the test. If you didn’t include the certificate of participation with your application documents, please bring it with you when you matriculate. List of available student orientation tests [de]
