Degree-seeking students at the University of Freiburg are able to apply for DAAD-PROMOS scholarships through the International Office.

  • Studying full-time
  • Planning to complete their degree at the University of Freiburg
  • Planning to do a short study-abroad, while complying with the regulations (see below - ''Program lines')

Please note:

  • These scholarships are not meant to support your studies in Freiburg at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg.
  • If you are looking for a funding opportunity for any nationality as a full-time, degree-seeking student who is planning on completing the entire study program in Freiburg, please contact this department for further information.

    • going abroad to your home country (e.g. Brazilian nationals going to Brazil cannot apply)

This also applies to countries where you have permanently lived in the past 5 years.

Program lines – Which projects can be funded?

In principle, only projects in countries for which there is no travel warning can be funded. If this is currently the case in your destination country, you can still apply in the hope that there is no longer a travel warning at the time of departure in order to keep the option open. In addition, under certain circumstances, stays may also be partially funded if they take place and/or start online and still achieve essential parts of the objective/purpose of the funding measure. Please contact Ms Obert and find out about the possibilities of receiving funding for online stays, if this is an option for your project.
